The Fiware4Water European project is inviting you to the online workshop on socio-political and citizen engagement.
The overall approach of citizens engagement will be presented by Kate Baker, from the University of Exeter. The mayor of Great Torrington (UK), and representatives of Local Water Forum from Amsterdam, Athens and Uganda will share their lessons learnt. Richard Elelman from EURECAT will highlight the importance of citizen engagement in environmental policies. Based on these short presentations, debates will be facilitated on the definition of the term ‘citizen engagement’, the disadvantages of such an approach, and how citizen engagement can be employed in a larger scale such as river basin.
